We welcome psychologists wishing to do humanitarian work at different stages of their career. As a student you could do an internship with one of our programmes in France, then once you’re qualified you could join us as a paid employee or a volunteer.
If you work on one of our international programmes, the role of psychologist involves training and organising a unit for the provision of medical and psychological services, working in partnership with local professionals. Positions for psychologists on our programmes outside France are usually salaried posts in the country concerned, for which recruitment is carried out locally.
If you work in France, you will provide consultations and lead group sessions at our reception, care and support centres. Most of the psychologists working on our programmes in France are volunteers, although some are paid employees.
Depending on the programme, prior experience in the medical and social sphere or humanitarian sector may be an advantage.
Because we are committed to long-term collaboration with our partners and believe that staff who have had practical experience on the ground are an asset for any organisation, we offer our humanitarian psychologists the opportunity to progress to more senior roles, such as mental health coordinator or technical advisor to the Health and Advocacy Department.
