YOUR TASKS

REQUIREMENTS

• You will be representing Médecins du Monde so you should be seen to uphold our values and put them into practice.
• If you work outside France, we ask that you have a good command of English or Spanish.
• For programmes outside France, you will be living and working in multicultural environments and in security contexts that may sometimes be difficult or stressful, so you will need to have the capacity to adapt.
• You will need excellent knowledge of the relevant sector for your programme, both in theory and in practice.
• Your experience of humanitarian work or medical and social settings will equip you to design projects, as well as to coordinate and monitor them. For this, you will have to lead and cooperate with networks of partners.
• You will be responsible for a team which might be quite large so you will need good management and leadership skills and should be a great team player.
• To manage all these different dimensions simultaneously, a dynamic approach and good organisational skills will be a valuable asset.
• You should be comfortable communicating verbally and in writing and have the ability to employ diplomacy when required.

Because we are committed to long-term collaboration with our partners and believe that staff who have had practical experience on the ground are an asset for any organisation, we offer our programme coordinators the opportunity to progress to more senior roles, such as thematic advisor or site coordinator and then on to general coordinator and desk officer.
